Today, we have a lot more options instead of actually heading to a movie theater in order to watch a movie. In many cases, out home theaters are just about as good as the movie theater experience two decades ago. Our televisions are all screen now instead of all panel. When you have a television that takes up four feet of space, it is generally all viewing area. Surround sound is a feature that was seen few and far between in most homes when we were kids. It just seems so right now that you buy a sound system when you buy a new TV . It is almost assumed that with the purchase of a 50" HD plasma TV comes the purchase of a new surround system to get the most out of the features of the new television. In my mind the biggest single change to watching the latest movies, came with the increased availability of the Internet for the average citizen. Because any movie can now be downloaded, we no longer have to spend money on visiting the local movie theater. Technology means this experience will never be the same again.
